Hi there.
Do you like free music?
Of course you do.

So, with that established, here's how to get some.
Now, you may be aware of the current promotion going on
with Apple Computer and Pepsi. One in every three specially marked
20 oz bottles of Pepsi products wins a free song download on iTunes.

Pepsi bottle, cap, iPod mini.
1 in 3 wins a free song on iTunes

What you may not be as aware of (and what I discovered by thinking about it a bit
more than anyone probably should) is the fact that that one in three
thing needn't apply to you. Y'see, there's a trick to winning every time.
Simply hold up the bottle and look inside.

What it seems they haven't noticed is that if you get the angle just right
there's a clear line of sight right in to the cap.

Figure 1. Clear line of sight.

Its distorted and wavy but if you look hard
enough you can make out weather you've got a
good one or not.

Figure 2. At left, losing cap. At right, winning cap.

Looking under the cap, the word
Try looking for the words "AGAIN" and "SONG" and by
the time anyone can wonder what you're doing, you'll have
found your winner.

Figure 3. Booyah! You've got a winner.

With a little practice and a little patience, you can pick a
winner (or several) every time. Then go home, download iTunes
(Mac or PC), and start redeeming those free songs. Save them up
and "free songs" rapidly become "free albums." Get that CD you've
had your eye on and quench your thirst simultaneously while
harnessing the wonders of the digital age!

Now you may be thinking, "But isn't this a bit morally ambiguous?"

That's an excellent question. No.

Apple was giving the songs away already, they're not losing any money.

Pepsi isn't losing any money either. They'll sell just as many bottles of Pepsi
because people will still buy the non-winner bottles that we cast aside.

Why? Because they're thirsty.

So get out there and start winning free music!
